Grand Cayman is a place that has been on my list for quite some time and I finally got the chance to visit on our recent 7-Day Western Caribbean cruise. When we visit a new port on a cruise, we typically like to maximize our time and spend as much time exploring as we can.

La Paz, Mexico is a hidden gym amongst the big name Mexcian resort cities. Situated at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula on the Sea of Cortez, it is surrounded by beautiful turquoise waters that rival those of the Caribbean. Just a short flight from California, La Paz makes a weekend trip to paradise easy.

Do all roads lead to Rome? Today, the ruins of the great Roman empire are surrounded by a modern capital city. Cobblestone streets that were once traveled by chariots and pedestrians are now bustling with cars and tourists. An impressive sports stadium was long ago pillaged for its beautiful marble and stonework. The crumbling walls of a once great palace are now covered with dirt and grass. The remaining structures are all that give us a look at what was like for these peoples 2,000 years ago.
