Exploring the Graffiti Art Around London
LONDON, ENGLAND
One thing that I didn't know was that there is an abundance of street art in London. I happened upon the Leake Street Tunnel which is a place that artists can come and show their work. It seems that there is graffiti all over the East End of London. I took a tour that showed some of the work of the world famous, Banksy. His art can go for six figures and people will often hire him to paint graffiti on their house to increase the value. It is unlike anything that I have ever seen. I was also able to see some of the little space invaders that are placed around the city. Graffiti is an art and there are a lot of incredible artists living in London. Oftentimes, people associate graffiti with tagging but when artists are given areas to express themselves, it can really add to an area instead of detracting from it.
If you are ever in London, be sure to take a tour of the streets or just wander around on your own and see what you can find.
